Between New York and California, my location-based style is definitely eclectic and no matter where I am, I always love to incorporate color!
When in NYC, I lean towards classic silhouettes, elegant accessories and monochromatic palettes. However, California definitely brings out the more playful and risk-taking side of my wardrobe. On the west coast, you can find me in lighter colors, mixed prints, and unique shapes. This outfit is a perfect example of what I opt for on sunny California spring days.
When I spend afternoons by the water, I can use some of my cute jackets to block the ocean breeze. This jacket in particular from Scotch & Soda is a wardrobe favorite of mine, with its silky exterior and reversible option. And the unusual colors stand out against my light-wash denim shirt and flared jeans. The denim-on-denim trend works well here as (almost) a neutral. It allows the jacket and handbag to stand out.
My bright rainbow bag from Alice + Olivia is a funky and unexpected compliment to the jewel tones in the jacket. It can easily be switched out with any other choice if I need a more roomy tote or more condensed clutch, based on the occasion. And my nude heels tie the outfit together, still allowing the bag and jacket to be the stars of the show. I’d wear this outfit strolling the docks by the ocean or for a sunny lunch outdoors overlooking the water. And I could throw on a cute mini skirt and stilettos for an instant evening-ready look!
