Making your favorite clothing and accessory trends appropriate for work is all about the silhouette. I take this to heart so I can wear my (many) favorite trends on a daily basis. Sequins are not just for after dark…
A classic pencil skirt is the way to go when wearing sequins for daytime. It’s a shape that flatters many body types and can be found in any workplace during the day. If your place of work allows for bright colors, why not pair it with a bold cobalt sweater. Keep it office-appropriate with a white collared shirt underneath.
If you’re looking for a more traditional approach, go for an all-black sequined skirt or a sequined cardigan instead. By doing this, you still show off your shimmer in a more subtle way. Instead of having the sequins be the star of the show like I’ve done here, your look can focus around a beautiful shift dress or blouse-and-blazer combo.
This outfit has a casual twist for daytime with this reversible leather and shearling jacket from Rag & Bone. The boxy shape makes the look casual, as opposed to a sleek leather jacket that would make the look evening-appropriate. I’ve finished it all off with a casual day clutch and classic black heels. This outfit could easily be evening ready in a matter of minutes by removing the collared blouse, adding some statement jewelry and switching out the neutral bag for an embellished number. I’m all about pieces that can be worn in multiple ways, and this skirt is the perfect addition to my versatile wardrobe.
