If you love prints like I do, you know how difficult it can be to style florals for winter. Whether I’m on the east coast or west coast I’ve found that the easiest way around this seasonal obstacle is to go dark. Black, navy, or any jewel tone is your free pass to wearing flower prints this time of year. And no surprise — I’ve gone with black.
This skirt is sheer with embroidered flowers. The embroidery may look heavy, but this piece is as light as a feather. It’s also just the right cut, hitting below the knee at a sexy midi length. To elongate my legs (and to follow my staple shoe aesthetic,) I’ve paired this look with sleek pumps. The black in the shoe ties in with the rest of the outfit without distracting from the real showstopper — the skirt.
Mirroring the gold accent of the shoes is my gold crossbody from Furla. With these gold accents and the orange in the skirt, this look creates a warm, inviting aura. If you find yourself dressing in a cooler color palette, this look would go great with silver accessories and a more muted pattern.
Topping off the outfit is this sleeveless sweater, great for an LA winter. For daytime, I’d wear this look out to lunch or perhaps shopping. I could easily pair this with a leather jacket for an evening out without having to change a thing!
