Few things compare to the pure joy and anticipation I feel when planning my outfits for Fashion Week. Coming only twice a year, these are the few days when I can bring out my most extraordinary pieces, and my favorites. Spending the majority of the year nearer the back of my closet, these garments and accessories are brimming with the need to be worn. Because while I love wearing trendy pieces all year round, these unique gems pack enough punch to stand out in the crowds of trend-wearers come Fashion Week.
The new year has started! We’ve torn off the last of our 2017 calendar pages, vowed New Year’s resolutions, and started to put holiday decorations away. It’s a wonderful feeling — the fresh start of a new year with all of the possibilities and unknowns. Not only can this apply to your work and lifestyle, but it can apply to your wardrobe as well. Every year I’m sure to continue building my wardrobe with interesting pieces. And even if a new garment or accessory seems “out there” or “trend-forward,” sometimes I’ll surprise myself by simply trying it on. As the year comes to a close, so does Wardrobe Envy’s Sparkle Saga. I figured it’s best to go out with one of the most luxe looks of all — a shimmering maxi fit for a winter wonderland. Many people associate red, green, and silver with the holidays. But I think otherwise. There’s just something about a gold monochromatic palette against a fresh fallen snow that sets off holiday carols in the back of my head and makes me crave a good cup of hot cocoa. And that can be difficult to find, considering there’s rarely a “fresh” fallen snow in either New York City or Los Angeles. So I’m celebrating accordingly!
