Fall is typically a time for yummy lattes, pumpkin carving, chunky knits, and fun layers. And with September right around the corner, it’s time to start prepping your fall wardrobe. But don’t throw all your fun summer clothes in storage just yet. Most summer pieces can easily transition into fall pieces with the help of some smart layering.
A few weeks back I took a much-needed mini-vacation to Saratoga Springs in Upstate New York. We decided to spend the afternoon in the Canfield Casino and Congress Park, a 17-acre historical national landmark full of lush gardens, breathtaking architecture, and beautiful art. I kept it casual and comfortable for my stroll through the historical site. I paired a white peplum top (which I’ve decided can also work as a jacket when turned backward and left unzipped) and a pair of pajama-style pants. The top, pants, shoes, and beaded purse are all from my go-to brand, Alice + Olivia.
Anyone who tells you the blush-pink trend is over is completely wrong. Blush is a color that’s here to stay, especially in my wardrobe. I love blush has a neutral to complement lighter colors like whites and beiges, especially during the summer. I wore this look to work and straight to dinner after. It is the perfect business-to-play outfit. The pants are fitted enough for business meetings and the blush makes them fun and feminine for a night out.
