There’s an art to mixing patterns and prints. By now, you’ve seen me in stripes, polkadots, gingham, florals, and numerous textures. In order to wear these kinds of prints successfully, I mix and match to create new looks every single day. The key formula to creating successful mixed print ensembles is pairing a micro and macro pattern together, and completing the outfit with solid blocks of color.
One of the most popular trends on runways this season is head-to-toe color stories. We’ve seen cherry red looks, emerald green ensembles, and cotton candy pink outfits from our favorite designers. And of course one of the most timeless head-to-toe colors is black. Love wearing #AllBlackEverything, but aren’t quite sure how to stand out in a sea of others doing the same? Try adding VOLUME.
If you follow Wardrobe Envy or know me personally, you know I’m a lover of color. It takes true stand-out pieces for me to go totally monochromatic. I’ve recently been obsessing over two gorgeous frocks that fit this requirement, both from a boutique in New York City called Dreams on Air…a retail space and a showroom filled with designer pieces for those with a developed sartorial sense.
