Wild Wild West…

January 8, 2019

In hopes to avoid this year’s gray and chilly December in New York, I packed my things and headed west to catch some sun and fun. For those of you who follow my posts and know my signature style, you’re probably surprised by the lack of sparkles and velvet in this holiday season outfit. Not to worry – they’re there! They’re just a little bit toned down for this daytime look. While I did get the opportunity to don floor-length glittering maxi skirts and suede stilettos during my time in Vegas, I was mostly inspired by the western scenery around me – so that’s what I wanted to feature in my first post of the new year!

Dashing through the sand….

December 24, 2018

It’s that time of year when the world falls in love with snow, evergreen trees, wrapping paper and holiday lattes. While these are arguably the best highlights of chilly winter months, I’ve come into my own Christmas-time tradition…traveling to somewhere a bit warmer. I’m looking for something a bit different. More romantic pieces with hints of whimsy, garments that spark conversation and interest, and most of all, I’m looking for pieces that stand out in a sea of black, silver and gold.

Seeing Red…

November 13, 2018

Whether you love it or hate it, the concept of a dress code has become less relevant with every passing year. As time marches on and the retail industry changes, shoppers are prioritizing versatility and longevity more now than ever when it comes to purchasing clothes. Personally, when I shop, I won’t buy something unless I can imagine wearing it three different ways. I want to make sure that the piece will stand the test of time (and rinse cycles) as well as flatter my shape and work for my lifestyle. One investment piece that I oftentimes gravitate towards is the jacket – in particular, the blazer.
The blazer is a universal layer that, when fitted properly, is flattering and sophisticated. It can be the cherry on top to a business-professional ensemble. It can be the last layer that you throw on before heading out the door to meet your friends for happy hour. It can be the stylish flair that elevates your afternoon-at-the-mall outfit. Even though diamonds are nice, I could make a case for the blazer being a girl’s best friend.
