Picture it: the sea wind occasionally lifting your hair, the sun gently touching your shoulders, and the brief thought, “Wow, I look great” when passing a store window along cobblestone side streets. An ideal day, no? For many, vacation is the perfect excuse to lie back in pajamas and sip tea in front of HGTV. For me, it’s the ultimate opportunity to play dress up and snap a few photos.

This particular weekend away was dotted with sailing and sunset cocktails. I paid homage to my lovely surroundings by donning a breezy off-the-shoulder blouse with a nautical stripe. While this top compliments a pair of dark wash jeans perfectly, I decided to go a more dressy route with these high-waisted sailor pants from Alice + Olivia. The buttons add a bit of my staple retro flair, while the comfy and breathable material could pass as a dressy wool. Dressing up this top makes it the ideal piece to go from day to night on a seaside getaway like this one.

And what would a maritime outfit be without its supporting accessories? My woven hat and nude platforms were no-brainers when it came to accessorizing this OOTD. Now, opening my closet to find a solid dozen or so bag options (I have a thing for wicker bags), I opted for this red woven satchel that I found on a recent trip to Nantucket. The vintage vibe is a go-to for me, and the porcelain crest decorating the front of the bag is a lovely seafaring touch.

As always, the smallest details of my outfit are equally as important as the statement pieces. From fingertips to toes, I’ve finished everything off with an Americana mani-pedi and some minimalist jewelry. An iced coffee in hand by day and a Mai Tai in hand by night complimenting my fresh manicure, I felt photo-ready all weekend! Needless to say, this look comprised of versatile and timeless pieces served me very well on my coastal weekend getaway.
