Bright lights and epic embroidery…

August 16, 2017

With the weather getting a bit cooler I’ve been focusing on how to transition all of my best summer outfits into the fall. Even though we have about a month left of summer, here on the East Coast late-August to early-September is basically  Fall Jr. The grey areas between seasons can be some of the most difficult times for fashion. But where there’s a will (and a cute white jacket), there’s a way!

This outfit is one of my go-to classics; an Alice + Olivia navy wide leg trouser with a simple cami. The casual cami adds contrast to the more professional looking trousers. The star of this outfit is definitely the embroidered white leather jacket. The key to transitioning any look from Summer to Fall is finding simple pieces that make a big difference. My leather jacket is definitely one of those pieces I will be wearing well into the fall. The jacket is so versatile, it can be worn with your favorite little black dress in the evening. Or, with cropped denim and sneakers for a more laid back weekend look. My Tory Burch bag is the perfect fall shade, I’m loving marigold for a crisp pop of color. The bag ties together the outfit while complimenting the fun colors embroidered on the jacket.

Along with transitioning my wardrobe, I’ve been transitioning to indoor locations to shoot for the blog. With temperatures dropping, I’m in search of fun indoor activities like art museums. This look was shot inside of Pace Gallery in NYC. The amazing light installation is by Leo Villareal, an American artist who uses LED lights and computer programming to create spectacular displays. The lights dimmed every few minutes and then each strand became brighter and brighter. Anyone in the NYC area should definitely check it out!
