Fall preview…

In-between seasons is my favorite time of year whether we are talking about the briskness of spring as we move from winter to summer, or about the crispness of fall as we transition from summer to winter. Through either transition, it’s all about layering!

In-between seasons is my favorite time of year whether we are talking about the briskness of spring as we move from winter to summer, or about the crispness of fall as we transition from summer to winter. Through either transition, it’s all about layering!

This particular summer in the northeast was a long one with warm weather infringing right on through the month of September.  So in order to indulge my love for transition, I didn’t wait for Fall to come to me, but decided to take a road trip and seek out fall in one of the prettiest areas in the Northeast:  The Adirondack Mountains, and more specifically, scenic Lake Placid.

While Lake Placid is best known for its winter activities due to its Olympic past, it is also an amazing place to enjoy so many fall activities like leaf peeping, hiking, horseback riding, and, of course, creating mountain chic looks! Heading there this winter? I’ve experienced some of the best winter activities Lake Placid has to offer and it’s a magical landscape! Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snow bonfires, ice skating, ice fishing, and a trip to the Olympic Ski jumping complex just to name a few. I’ve also got some great restaurant recommendations, contact me for more info.

About the look…

My color palette for today was strictly autumnal.  Sage green is trending right now, and this look was my take on how to wear this color with an olive skin tone.  I also enjoyed mixing textures:  silk with cashmere with croc.  I also added a nude shoe to elongate my legs, and a warm pink neutral scarf to break up the monochromatic skirt and top.

What’s your favorite piece to wear this fall?

What I wore;

Sweater, skirt- Alice + Olivia

Bag- Vintage

Shoes- Mui Mui

Scarf- Zara

Sunnies- Warby Parker
