Every turn of the new calendar rings in a fresh Pantone Color of the Year. For 2017, Pantone has gone with the refreshing leafy shade of Greenery. The past year was full of unexpected twists and turns, so it’s only suitable that the hue of the new year reminds us of new beginnings.
While I look toward the fashionable year ahead, my outfit of the day is inspired by Greenery. The zesty lime is the perfect shade of yellow-green for this drop waist retro style dress. For an LA winter, I’d pair with a chunky cardigan and these gold brocade boots. The style of the boots is very on trend right now, and the gold stitching can easily be highlighted through my other accessories.
I’ve paired it all up with a stack of thin gold bangles for movement, and a gorgeous vintage necklace I purchased on a recent trip to La Jolla. I love to highlight modern outfits with vintage finds like this — a mix of the old and new to compliment my signature aesthetic. Because greenery is such a statement color on its own, I’d keep my makeup minimal. I can’t wait to see what designers do with Greenery in the upcoming year and how I can use it in my wardrobe.
