Winter has been fun as far as dressing up goes — layering, textures, and playing with proportions. But now I’m slowly starting to incorporate a few spring pieces into my outfits as the days get warmer and the months move on. It’s hard to believe, but spring is just around the corner…. And I’m excited to start dressing for it!

To transition, I’ve started with winter pieces in spring color palettes. This sleeveless sweet pea pink sweater looks great on it’s own, but would also layer nicely over a fitted tee or under a suede jacket. The large knit is cozy without being too warm or constricting. I’ve paired it with this lace pencil skirt to create dimension by mixing textures.  To contrast the softness in the knit and lace, the jewelry is porcelain-esque. These pieces add just enough pop without straying from the feminine aesthetic I’ve created.

Right now, I’d wear this look with booties. In a month or so, I’ll definitely be switching out for strappy sandals. Always remember to wear heels with a pencil skirt like this to elongate the leg and make you look lean. These spring colors are getting me through the gray days of winter. But if pink isn’t for you, opt for a similar look in a pretty sky blue or chartreuse.
