Fall is typically a time for yummy lattes, pumpkin carving, chunky knits, and fun layers. And with September right around the corner, it’s time to start prepping your fall wardrobe. But don’t throw all your fun summer clothes in storage just yet. Most summer pieces can easily transition into fall pieces with the help of some smart layering.

The Alice + Olivia Athena Maxi Skirt and muted pink cami may seem like summer clothes, but I refuse to say goodbye to them just because temperatures are dropping. To transition this outfit into the Fall, I would add a chunky knit cardigan over the cami and swap out my open toe shoes for ankle booties. Voila! You have a fall outfit.  While the velvet floral and paisley print on the skirt screams Spring and Summer, it’s time to take back the Fall and have fun with prints! Don’t feel like you can only wear certain colors and textures.

I accessorized with fun tassel earrings, stacked heels, a cream sweater, and a leather crossbody. The Laura Brown X Mon Purse mini crossbody bucket bag is a perfect daytime bag, especially for working ladies. It carries all the essentials I need for my workday and the silver emboss monogram adds a personal touch that I love. Laura Brown, Editor in Chief of InStyle Magazine, designed the line in partnership with Mon Purse, so you know the bags are chic. The light sweater by Sincerely, Jules added the perfect amount of warmth for the day. I’m not saying goodbye to Summer just yet, but I am welcoming the Fall with open arms!
