If there’s one color that I love as a holiday staple, it’s bordeaux. The rich maroon hue is perfect for any shape or size, any complexion, and looks great as any texture. Bordeaux denim? Fun and flirty. Bordeaux cashmere? Luxurious and warm. But how about these bordeaux velvet booties from Stuart Weitzman? They’re a statement piece I’ll be wearing all winter long.
Velvet is an elegant texture, but is versatile enough to be experimented with. Because it’s such a hot trend right now, I decided to invest in an all-over velvet bordeaux bootie. The deep, saturated shade like this is sure to stand out among its black and brown counterparts. And it gives me the opportunity to bring the color through the rest of my outfit.
The ribbed sweater mirrors the warm tone of the booties and ties the whole look together. I’ve paired these both with a high waisted leather a-line skirt from Zara, and a beautiful metallic Furla crossbody bag. Leather, metallic, and velvet all look so luxe together that it’s hard to pass up! And you know me, I’m a huge supporter of mixing and matching textures.
Having my hair up means I got to show off my statement fringe earrings. I love Banana Republic jewelry like this, because it’s all so versatile. These balance the wow factor of the booties with a wow factor up top. They can be worn for both daytime and a nice dinner out, and I’ve definitely flaunted them on both occasions. In this outfit, I’m ready to let the Christmas shopping on Rodeo Drive commence!
