Happy New Year!  Welcome to the year of good intentions. My focus in 2020 is to improve my buying  habits by adding pieces that can be worn to create many different looks, and to be a smarter shopper as the biggest goal in sustainability is to buy less and use things longer….and perhaps to “pass it on” to others.

Todays’ look checks off all these boxes.  First, this houndstooth coat and shorts, which is a textile characterized by broken checks that resemble dog teeth, can be worn to create so many interesting outfits (think Alice in Wonderland vibe).
The statement coat can also be paired with jeans and a tee for a chic and effortless look or throw over a little black dress and you have a “hero” piece!
This cropped shirt is fitted, zips at the back, and the puff sleeves add an a feminine detail.
I accessorized the look with a cherry red belt bag that gives it a pop of color and adds visual interest to the entire outfit.
The hero piece of this look is of course, is the statement coat, and it’s become one of my favorite pieces in my closet to  date.
